John Walters

John was born in Midland, Michigan but grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Plano Sr. High in Dallas and went on to get his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Southwest Texas State University where he met his wife Angie.

John came to know Christ as his Savior at the age of seven through the example of two Godly parents and a children’s church teacher named “Mrs. Louise”. A few years later, John made his faith in Christ public through baptism.

After graduating from college in 1994, John began a career with Deere & Company where he spent 10 years in various roles and responsibilities and in different areas of the country. In 1997, John sensed God compelling him toward full time ministry and struggled with the desire to serve God wholeheartedly and balance his ‘career’. In July 2004, John obeyed God’s call, left his career and joined the staff of Harvest Bible Chapel as Pastor of Children’s Ministry.

Today, as Pastor of Children's Ministries, John’s passion is to share the gospel of Christ in an intentional and contagious way so that every child enters into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. He also desires to foster an enthusiastic and supportive environment for families to grow in their relationship with Christ and each other.

John and Angie live in Davenport with their four sons, Reid, Zach, Tate and Cole.
