Pastor of Congregational CareKip grew up in the Bible Belt of Texas, but he did not truly hear the gospel until he and his family moved to Iowa his freshman year of college. It was at that time that he placed his trust in Christ as his Savior and Lord. Shortly thereafter, he responded joyfully to God calling him into vocational ministry, and graduated from College of the Ozarks with a bachelor degree in Religion in 1983.
Soon after receiving Christ, Kip met Shari, his future wife and partner in ministry. Since 1988, they have served the Lord together in college and youth ministry, and most recently with Kip serving as an associate pastor. His passion continues to be teaching and encouraging God’s people to "preach the gospel to themselves", and to find their identity in the gospel of Christ and his glorious grace.
In the summer of 2011, Kip experienced God’s good and wise providence as he was invited to become the Pastor of Congregational Care at Harvest Bible Chapel. It is his desire that Harvest would continue to develop a culture of biblical soul care, practice the New Testament “one another’s”, and be full of truth and grace.
Kip and Shari live in Bettendorf with their son Ryan, and have three married daughters, Rachel, Rebekah and Ruthann, who continue to bless them with grandchildren. Another wonderful blessing has been God’s gracious work in their children’s lives, as they are all faithfully involved in ministry, either vocationally or through their local church.
